Hydration is Key to Weight Loss Success

You may not know this, but drinking plenty of water is key to losing weight and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It helps boost your metabolism, cleanse your body of waste, and acts as an appetite suppressant. We understand many people have a distaste for plain water, so our leaders and staff have come up with their recommendations for getting their water in.

  • I keep strawberries, pineapple and other fruits frozen. When I fill up my 50oz Hydro Flask I add a few pieces of fruit to infuse the water with subtle flavors. Makes it more fun to drink. They are good for a few water fill ups before I dispose of the fruit and add new. — Staff
  • My husband and I made a pact; we must drink a full glass of water before we allow ourselves to drink anything else. So, before every cup of coffee, soda, tea or any beverage, we drink a glass of water first. — Staff
  • A Member shared with me, she has colored rubber bands on her drinking glass. As she drinks fluids throughout the day she moves the bands from bottom to top or top to bottom. Great visual that reminds her to take in more fluids. — Staff
  • My secret to staying hydrated is herbal tea, especially peppermint or lemon/ginger. I stick one tea bag in my beverage container and add cool water. Right now because of the cooler temps, I prefer no ice, later in the year I like LOTS of ice. I can usually use the tea bag for one additional refill. — Staff
